Well, February 2, 2020 is Super Bowl LIV (Number 54).
As I observe families and friends preparing for the Big Game, which took a season to prepare for, I am mindful of how we, as Wives of Christian Leaders, prepare for our Big Game every week. I'm talking about our Sunday Worship Services.
In any given game, we live up to the Wife's Call by playing in different positions on the field to help the Quarterback, our husbands, reach the goal; safe delivery of the Gospel to our congregations.
Here are some positions I've played. (Please share with me your positions.)
Assistant Coach -Â Teaching and training the women and children in the Word.
Defense - This position prevents the opposing team from advancing. Satan tries every week, but we are vigilant to protect our husbands and the congregation from being devoured.
Offense -  When you look onto the field, these players are the biggest, strongest ones and their work can win or lose the game. As wives, e block for husbands, who carry the ball faithfully every Sunday.Â
And sometimes we come out of the stands to be:
The Cheerleader - We give pep talks when our husbands are down. We inspire congregations to rise to the fullest potential. We sense when a player needs to be relieved, and we provide a safe place for those who may not have done so well today, hugging them and sending them back out, knowing that God will use even this for His glory.
Being a member of "Team Husband" has its challenges. Every successful game begins with a Pre-Game Strategy. Ours takes place every Saturday.
-
Bathing in prayer for her husband and the congregation
-
Preparation of the Game Uniform. Every thing is laid out for me the night before. Nothing messes up a spirit more than a wardrobe malfunction or a forgotten piece of equipment. LOL
-
Rest. Satan often will find our weak spot and blind side when we are not at optimal strength. Guard your rest time.
-
And I dare not leave out Sunday pre-service prep. Sunday mornings can create a rush like none other. Go into your personal "locker room" and have your personal worship time with the Lord. Â
As with any team member, the Wife must also be skilled in passing and rushing. The above strategies will grow you into a great receiver and an awesome team player.
Share with us your Pre-Game Strategies and Post-Game Successes.
