As I've watched this political process unfold over the past 15 months, I have had concerns -- not so much of the candidates. I research the issues and policies enough to be comfortable with my decision. (I hope you do, too.) My concern has been, "How do I stay on Purpose through this political process?"
You see, no matter what is going on in life, I have to remind myself daily that Purpose is bigger. So when challenges rise, when disagreements come, I want my Purpose to remain intact so that I am a better example to my family, my church, and my community.
I taught a Bible lesson not too long ago, entitled, "What If Authority Tells Me To...," based on the book, Under Cover, by John Bevere. This book teaches us to remain under Divine Authority by abiding under the shadow of the Almighty, and to honor Delegated Authority by submission in obedience to Him.
Abigail encountered a situation of "questionable" authority over her. She engaged in certain principles with David that will teach us not only how to hold on to our faith through this process, but how to shine in Purpose.
